Conventional TANACO PLASTIC PLUG Sanitary 2 and 3 way Valves with #316 Stainless Steel bodies and parts are well known for long life, easy handling and no leakage. Cleared by FDA, USPHS, USDA and 3-A for pasteurized products, they are chemically inert, nontoxic and non-porous and will withstand 350 continuous temperature and steam sterilization. Currently
available in 1 1/2" through 4" sizes. |
|
TANACO MODERNIZING SERVICE rebuilds, like new, existing valves with TANACO PLASTIC PLUGS, solid throughout, not a coating. We do not manufacture heavy tank valves, but rebuild them as well as valves for special kettles, vacuum pans, rotary fillers and even compression valves. TANACO PLUGS are light in weight, do not gall or stick, and
even if dropped and abused, will not score the metal body and cause leaks. Alloy valve bodies can be hardchrome plated to conform to health regulations. |

Send your complete valve (body, plug and fittings) directly to Tanaco Products. Request a loan valve if you have no spare. There is no charge for loaners except freight. We require 5 to 10 working days to modernize your valves. This service is about half the cost of new valves. |

TANACO PLASTIC PLUG
SANITARY VALVES

No matter who manufactured your valve, we can rework it to present standards. For 2-way and 3-way line valves, we can supply loan valves with either Tri-Clamp or 45 bevel seat acme threads. For tank valves we must know the distance between centers of the holding bolts.
Welded-in-line valves must be cut from the pipeline with at least 3" from the OUTSIDE of the body wall to prevent distortion when rewelding. Valve body and fittings are deburred and polished. Interior ports are honed. Both the inside body taper and the outside diameter of a solid TANACO PLASTIC PLUG are precision ground to match. A stainless steel handle is attached to the plug under heat and pressure. If the handle of your existing plug will cover the entire plug top, it will be cut off and used. Plug and body tapers are mated and the entire valve is
tested in water lines at 125 p.s.i., returned to you like new, far superior to the original valve and GUARANTEED NOT TO LEAK. Send your complete valve (body, plug and fittings) directly to Tanaco.
TANACO sanitary lightweight LEAK-PROOF CLOSURES of TANACO PLASTIC with molded-in stainless steel threads and an FDA approved white silicon gasket seal are modern replacements for heavy end plates and hex nuts. They cap any threaded line, tank or valve port in 1 ½" through 3" line sizes. Long lasting and unbreakable, they can be ordered with or without a 15" stainless chain and hook. |

For plants that do not have a C.I.P. system, no better manually operated valve can be found. Bodies and fittings are of #316 stainless steel, the most corrosion resistant stainless available, and they are polished to mirror finish.
The TANACO PLASTIC PLUGS are solid throughout,
chemically inert, nontoxic, tasteless, odorless, heat resistant to , and require no lubrication. They are light in weight and nonabsorbent and will withstand considerable plant abuse. The streamlined valves are so designed that mated tapers of the unlike materials do not gall or stick and seal ever better with use. Up to 125 p.s.i. they are guaranteed not to leak. All sizes from
1 ½" through 3" are in stock for same day delivery.
Where valves are turned frequently under pressure or installed so that it is difficult to reach the
bottom wingnut, a TANACO FREE TURNING TIE NUT should be used. This replaces the standard washer and nut. Once set, the valve can be operated by HAND without touching the Tie Nut, without unseating the plug and without leakage.
The Tie Nut prevents product getting between body and plug during turning. A TANACO PLASTIC bearing in the Tie Nut separates the clamping pressure
of plug and body and line pressure lifts the plug slightly for free rotation. |

The AIR ACTUATED IN-LINE VALVE is similar to the Hand Operated except that the plug stem is rotated 90°
in one direction, remotely controlled, with each movement of the piston in the air cylinder. It can be incorporated into the plant's existing control panels or individually installed. Valve lines are cleaned by normal plug rotation. An air line attached to the vertical piston
cylinder also lifts the plug for thorough cleansing inside valve body and ports. In the Air Actuated IN-LINE VALVE, solenoids in a control panel open to introduce air into one side of the horizontal cylinder, pushing the piston forward to turn the valve plug 90°, then into the other side for piston return.
The valve turns one direction, clockwise. A pointer mounted on the plug stem clearly shows the position of the plug at all times. When used in aseptic systems, valves can be incorporated into the plant's existing control panels or single valves may be operated remotely by a 4-way solenoid valve.
Processors can install
TANACO Air Actuated IN-LINE VALVES in place of existing valves without changing basic operations or retraining personnel.

TANACO IN-LINE VALVES carry the 3-A symbol are flexible, durable, maintenance-free and can be thoroughly cleaned-in-place without removal of plugs from bodies. The Hand Actuated IN-LINE VALVE illustrated is essentially a spring-operated plug valve with a positive closed and open position. Spring tension from the actuator seats the plug firmly in the body. Moving the locknut lever 180° releases this tension and raises the plug for easy turning.
This is the most efficient of all manually operated sanitary valves.
The parts for the manually operated IN-LINE VALVE are few. The TANACO PLASTIC PLUG and body, fittings and actuator of #316 stainless steel.
The valve will positively seal from 15 p.s.i. to 125 p.s.i. with the position of the locknut lever 90° to the right of the handle. This is the closed position. The collar under the locknut will be loose and the plug firmly seated with spring tension from the actuator.
To change position of the valve during the product run, move the locknut lever 180°
CLOCKWISE before turning the handle as this releases the spring tension on the plug. The collar under the locknut will have tightened. To reseat, move the locknut lever back COUNTER-CLOCKWISE so it is again 90° to the right of the handle in a closed position. It is just as simple as that.
A food grade "O" ring seals the plug stem in the actuator. FDA approved silicon gasket seals are permanently molded into actuator and bottom cap. For easy visual inspection, a quick release clamp permits immediate withdrawal of plug and actuator from the body. |
